Heroes of the Storm Dev Matches BlizzCon

HeroesOfTheStormBlizzCon

Heroes of the Storm is Blizzard’s new arena brawler game expected to come out next year as a free to play game joining Hearthstone as their second free to play game. Yesterday at BlizzCon they reveled a lot more details about Heroes of the Storm along with having 2 teams of the Blizzard Devs battling each other in two games to show off the different heroes along with the different maps that will be in the game.

Blizzard is taking a very different approach with Heroes of the Storm compared to Dota 2 and LoL. A few of the major differences are that players do not level up individually but as a team, there are no more last hits, gold, or ability to buy items and armor.  The matches are also going to be shorter averaging around 20 mins per game. I’m not sure how I feel about the game yet, coming from a Dota 2 player I personally like leveling up by myself and love the ability to buy items. After watching the Blizzard dev team play two Heroes of the Storm matches I sort of get a WoW Battleground field from the game. I’m defiantly looking forward to the beta for Heroes of the Storm which will be released sometime in early 2014.
